Kerala minister said- 9328 people were taken to a safe place
Kerala Revenue Minister K Rajan said on Thursday that so far 9328 people have been safely evacuated to 91 relief camps. Of these, 2328 people from 578 families are from Choorlamalla and Meppadi. ​​The most devastation occurred here.

The bridge connecting Choorlamala to Mundakkai is ready
The Madras Engineering Group of the Army constructed a 190 feet long Bailey bridge to connect Choorlamala in Wayanad to Mundakkai. This will help speed up the relief work. What is the reason for the landslide in Wayanad
Wayanad is in the North-East of Kerala. This is the only plateau area of ​​Kerala. That is, an area with high and low mounds of soil, stones and trees and plants growing on it. According to the 2021 report of the Geological Survey of India, 43% of Kerala’s area is affected by landslides. 51% of Wayanad’s land is hilly slopes. That is, the possibility of landslides remains very high.

The Wayanad plateau is situated in the Western Ghats at an altitude of 700 to 2100 meters. The Arabian Sea branch of the monsoon hits the Western Ghats of the country and rises up, so this area receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. Wayanad has the Kabini River. Its tributary Mananthavady originates from the ‘Thondaramudi’ peak. Flooding in this river due to landslides has caused heavy damage.
