Prime Minister Modi will go to China to attend the SCO Summit. The tour will take place on 31 August and 1 September. This will be Modi’s first visit to China after India-China military clashes in the Galwan Valley in 2020.
Modi went there in 2018 earlier. This will be PM Modi’s sixth visit to China as Prime Minister. Earlier, PM Modi will visit Japan on 30 August. Here he will take part in the India-Japan Summit.
Last month, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar visited China, where he met President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Jaishankar had talked about issues like sharing water resource data, reducing trading restrictions, reducing stress on LAC and taking a tough stand against terrorism and extremism. According to media reports, the meeting had prepared a roadmap for Modi’s visit to China.
