Shibu Soren died on Monday morning at 81 following a prolonged illness. Several leaders visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi to pay tribute to the JMM founder.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren on Monday by visiting Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, where the veteran tribal leader breathed his last at the age of 81. He also met with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to offer condolences on the passing of his father.
Sharing the pictures where PM Modi was seen consoling Hemant, he wrote on X, “Went to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to pay homage to Shri Shibu Soren Ji. Also met his family. My thoughts are with Hemant Ji, Kalpana Ji and the admirers of Shri Shibu Soren Ji.”
President Droupadi Murmu also Visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital To Pay Homage To Shibu Soren.
Earlier in the day, President Murmu shared condolences on his demise from her X handle and said his death is a big loss in the space of social justice.
“He championed the cause of tribal identity and formation of the state of Jharkhand. Besides his work at the grassroots, he also contributed as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, as a Union Minister and as a Member of Parliament. His emphasis on the welfare of the people, especially the tribal communities, will always be remembered. I extend my deepest condolences to his son and Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren Ji, other family members and admirers,” she added in her X post.
