A sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and his son died after being hit by a landslide in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, his wife and two others were injured.
Police said that Salukh Ikhtar is from Nala Nala area late Friday night. SDM Rajinder Singh Rana was going to his ancestral village strips from Dharmari with his family. Then landslide took place and a big stone fell on his car.
Due to this, Rana and his son died on the spot. Also, his wife and two cousins were seriously injured. Local residents and police immediately started the rescue operation and rushed all the injured to the nearest hospital. After initial treatment, he was referred to Reasi District Hospital.
Rajinder Singh Rana was an officer of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service of 2011 batch and was posted as SDM in Ram Nagar.
