Rally allowed for the first time since 1971

This is the first time that after 1971, Jamaate Islami was allowed to rally at the Suvarvardi Udyan. It is believed that the Yunus government is promoting Islamic forces and the impact of Liberal parties is decreasing.

Former Prime Minister Hasina’s party Awami League strongly criticized the decision. The party called it a betrayal with the conscience of the nation and said that it is an insult to the martyrs of 1971.

Jamaate Islamic is preparing to contest 300 seats and is trying to form an alliance with other Islamic parties including BNP. Jamaat also had two ministers in the BNP government in 2001-2006.

Last year, agitation against reservation was coupled

There were large-scale protests in Bangladesh under the leadership of students last year. On August 5, 2024, the mob attacked the residence of the then Prime Minister, 77 years Sheikh Hasina. Before the crowd arrived, Hasina escaped from Bangladesh to India. She has been living in India since then.

With this, the 20 -year -old government of Awami League in Bangladesh also fell. This was then established an interim government under the leadership of Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. Students across the country were protesting against Hasina with the quota system.

In fact, on June 5, 2024 in Bangladesh, the High Court implemented 30% quota system in the job. This reservation was being given to the families of freedom fighters. But this reservation was later abolished by the Hasina government. After this, students started protesting demanding his resignation.
