A teenager studying in class 10 in Pune jumped from the 14th floor to complete the task of the game.
Do you remember the Blue Whale game… in which the player was forced to commit suicide through tasks? Although this game has been banned in the country since 2017, another similar game has surfaced. This case is from Pune, Maharashtra. Here, a teenager studying in class 10 jumped from the 14th floor to complete the task of the game. Due to this, he died on the spot.
Police have recovered a paper from the deceased student’s room, on which the task of jumping from his apartment and gallery is written in pencil. Logout is also written on this paper. Not only this, many papers written in the coding language of the game have also been found from his room. Currently, police have registered a case of accident and started investigation about the game. Three building designs have been found from Umesh’s room. In one of the maps, it is told how to commit suicide.

I used to talk alone, I used to stay locked in my room all day long
The incident took place on the night of 26 July in Kiwale area of Pimpri Chinchwad. Here 15-year-old Umesh Shrirao lived with his mother and younger brother. His father works in Nigeria. His mother is an engineer as well as a housewife. The mother told the police that her son was addicted to games for the last 6 months. He used to lock himself in his room for hours, forgetting to eat and drink. He used to talk alone.
A few days ago, he was playing with a knife in a task of this game. On 25th July, he was locked in the room the whole day. He came out for dinner at night and then went inside. My younger son had fever, so I was with him. Just after midnight, a message came on the society’s WhatsApp group – a child has fallen from the building. After reading the message, I went to the room, Umesh was not there. Then I ran downstairs, and Umesh was lying in a pool of blood in the parking lot. He died before he could be taken to the hospital.

In India, the first victim of the Blue Whale game was Mumbai’s 14-year-old school student Manpreet Singh Sahni in July 2017. Then Manpreet committed suicide by jumping from the 7th floor. According to a report released in 2019, more than 100 children lost their lives in Russia, Ukraine, India and America due to this game.
