The stock market is a boom on the first business day of the week today i.e. on Monday, 26 May. The Sensex is trading at a level of 82,450 by climbing 700 points. The Nifty also has a rise of 200 points, it is at 25,050 levels.

29 out of 30 shares of Sensex are rose, one declines in one. A total of 11 shares including Mahindra, Power Grid, Tata Motors are up to 2.7%. Jomato has a decline of about 3.5%.

48 out of 50 shares of Nifty are rose and 2 decline. All NSE sectors are boom. Auto index has a gain of 1.33%, metal 1.06%, IT 0.76% and realty 0.83%.

Mixed business in Asian market, US declines

  • In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading at 37,400 points above 250 points and Korea’s Kospi 32 points (1.26%) above 2,624.
  • Hong Kong’s Hangseng index declines by 250 points (1.02%), it is at 23,360. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,340 below 10 points (0.30%).
  • On May 23, the US Dow Jones fell 256 points to 41,603, Nasdaq Composite below 188 points (1%) at 18,737 and S&P 500 also fell 39 points (0.67%) to close at 5,802.

Foreign investors bought shares worth 1,795 crore on 23 May

  • On May 23, Foreign Investors (FIIs) purchased Rs 1,794.59 crore in the cash segment and domestic investors (DIS) purchased Rs 299.78 crore.
  • So far, foreign investors have purchased a net of Rs 12,191.61 crore in the cash segment and Rs 34,497.56 crore in the cash segment.
  • Net purchases of foreign investors in April stood at Rs 2,735.02 crore. Domestic investors also purchased a net of ₹ 28,228.45 crore in a month.

‘The Leela’ hotels open from today

The IPO of Shloss Bangalore Limited, a parent company of Indian luxury hotel chain ‘The Leela’, has been opened for subscription from 26 May today. Retail investors can bid for this by 28 May 2025. Through this issue, the company wants to raise Rs 3,500.

The market was 769 points on Friday

The Sensex climbed 769 points to close at 81,721 on the last business day of last week i.e. Friday, 23 May. The Nifty also rose by 243 points, it closed at 24,853 levels.

Out of 30 Sensex’s 30 shares, 28 rose, while two declined. Shares of Jomato, Power Grid, ITC and Bajaj Finserv rose up to 3.5%. A total of 14 shares including Nestle India rose by 1.8%. Sunforma and Airtel slipped up to 1.8%.

Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 46 rose and 4 declined. NSE’s FMCG index gained 1.63%, private bank 1.08%, IT index 0.95%, Metal 0.76%and realty 0.64%. There was a slight decline in pharma and health care.
