After the unsuccessful missiles and drone attacks conducted by Pakistan on many cities of these three Indian states, Srinagar, Jammu and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, Amritsar, Pathankot and Jalandhar in Punjab, Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan and blackouts were implemented in other major cities in Gujarat and other major cities in Gujarat.
India’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement, ‘Military stations in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani drones and missiles on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir today. India’s S-400 air defense system successfully destroyed 8 Pakistani missiles in the sky of Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia on Thursday evening. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, India carried out Operation Sindoor while taking a response, under which the Indian Army destroyed 9 terrorist camps of Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul Mujahideen located in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir in air strikes. Due to this, Pakistan tried to target Indian defense installations with drones and missiles at different places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan on Thursday evening.
The Indian Air Force activated the S-400 air defense system purchased from Russia in the border states, as a result of which the missiles and drones fired by Pakistan were destroyed in the air itself. Defense sources said, ‘We already feared that these efforts from Pakistan have already been attacked. We were fully prepared to thwart Pakistani airstrikes. So far, eight projectiles, most of which are surface -to -surface missiles, have been killed by our air defense system. The Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified the ground patrol and anti -drone systems are also active.
The entire 1,070 km long international border between India and Pakistan in Rajasthan has been sealed by further orders and the state has been placed on high alert. All flight operations from Bikaner, Kishangarh (Ajmer) and Jodhpur airports have been suspended by May 10. Jaipur Airport canceled four flights on Thursday, while IndiGo Airlines also suspended their Bikaner flights till the same date.
