Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the NPS ‘Vatsalya’ scheme in the budget. The NPS contribution limit for employers in the private sector has also been increased from 10% to 14% of the employee’s basic salary. Apart from this, the limit of Mudra loan has been increased to Rs 20 lakh.

7. SBI Life earns Rs 520 crore profit in Q1: up 36% YoY, investment income Rs 19,283 crore; stock up 23.95% in a year

Insurance company SBI Life has reported a net profit of Rs 519.52 crore in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2024-25. It has increased by 36.34% on an annual basis. In the same quarter a year ago i.e. Q1FY24, the company had earned a profit of Rs 381.04 crore.

During this period, the company’s net premium income has increased by 15% to Rs 15,105 crore as compared to April-June 2023. A year ago, the company’s premium earnings were Rs 13,104 crore. At the same time, earnings from investment increased by 32.27% to Rs 19,283.50 crore.
