After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there is a steady tension in India and Pakistan. Late on Sunday, the Pakistani Army briefed all political parties about the current situation.
The briefing was given by Lt. General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In the meeting, all parties gave their support to retaliate in the case of Indian attack. According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, in the war situation, all the parties have also agreed to form a joint front together.
Imran Khan’s main opposition party PTI did not attend this briefing.
The meeting was attended by PPP’s Raja Parvez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Shazia Marri, PML-N’s barrister Akil, Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Talal Chaudhary Kashmiri leader Shah Ghulam Qadir and many other leaders were present.
Political parties said- is with the army
According to Dawn’s report, all the political parties of Pakistan talked about standing with the army in the event of the Indian attack. Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said in the meeting that the government wants to take feedback from all political parties on this issue.
According to the report, it was said in the meeting that India has not been able to explain its point to the world. While Pakistan’s side has emerged strongly. On the other hand, the Pak Army also informed political parties about its preparations.
India has accused Pakistan for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. On the other hand, Pakistan has denied these allegations and demanded an independent and fair inquiry.
Today, there will be a meeting in the Security Council of the United Nations on this issue. Pakistan has demanded this meeting, which Greece has approved under its chairmanship. On the other hand, a special session of Parliament has been called in Pakistan today.
India stopped the water of Chenab river
India stopped the Chenab river water on Sunday after suspending the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan. According to a report by news agency PTI, Chenab’s water has been stopped from Baglihar Dam in Ramban, Jammu. At the same time, planning is going on to stop the water of Jhelum river through Kishanganga Dam in Kashmir.
On the other hand, Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday on his residence 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. According to sources, there was a conversation between the PM and the Airchiefe Marshall on the Pahalgam attack.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in an event in Delhi that, as Defense Minister, it is my responsibility to give a befitting reply to those who keep a bad eye on India. I want to assure you that what you (countrymen) want will definitely happen.
India has closed all the gates of the Baglihar Hydro Electric Power Project on the Chenab River.
Pakistan sought help from America for pressure on India
Pakistan has sought help from the US to pressurize India to appear responsibly. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the phone on 30 April.
During this, Shahbaz Sharif accused India of fierce and inflammatory behavior. Also said- Due to India’s provocative attitude, Pakistan’s action against terrorism may be affected. Regional conditions may deteriorate
Rubio, on the other hand, while talking to Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India used to take care of Pakistan’s hand behind this attack and demanding retaliation.
