Jalgaon SP has confirmed the death of 11 people. While Special Inspector General of Police Dattatraya Karale informed PTI that 12 bodies were sent to the Civil Hospital.
There is news of 40 passengers being injured. Official sources of Bhusaval division of Central Railway said that there was a sharp turn at the place where the incident took place. Because of this, the passengers sitting on the other track did not realize the arrival of the train.
This was the reason why such a large number of people were crushed by the Karnataka Express. Central Railway CPRO Swapnil Nila said, the incident site is 400 kilometers away from Mumbai.
12 bodies have been brought to the government hospital in Jalgaon. Of these, 7 have been identified. Among those who died, 9 were men and 3 were women.

A senior railway official said that according to preliminary information, sparks arose inside a coach of Pushpak Express due to ‘hot axle’ or ‘brake-binding (jamming)’ and some passengers got scared.
