On the second trading day of the week i.e. today (Tuesday, January 7), the Sensex is seeing a rise of more than 400 points. It is trading at the level of 78,300. There is also a rise of about 150 points in Nifty, it is trading at the level of 23,750.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 27 are up and only 3 are down. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 46 are rising and 4 are declining. In the NSE sectoral index, Consumer Durables is up by 1.05% and Oil & Gas is up by 1.38%. A decline is being seen in Nifty Auto and Media.
Mixed business for Asian markets
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is up by 2.44% and Korea’s Kospi is up by 0.70%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading with a decline of 0.27%.
- The IPOs of Quadrant Future Tech Limited and Capital Infra Trust InvIT have opened from today. Investors will be able to bid for it till January 9. The shares will be listed on BSE-NSE on January 14.
- According to NSE data, on January 6, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,575.06 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 5,749.65 crore.
- On January 6, America’s Dow Jones closed at 42,706 with a decline of 0.060%. The S&P 500 index rose 0.55% to 5,975 and the Nasdaq rose 1.24% to 19,864.
There was a big fall in the market yesterday
On January 6, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 77,964 with a fall of 1258 points. Nifty also fell by 388 points, it closed at the level of 23,616. At the same time, BSE Smallcap fell by 1778 points and closed at the level of 54,337.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 27 declined and 3 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 43 declined and 7 rose. While one stock closed without any change.
All sectors in the NSE Sectoral Index closed with a decline. PSU Bank closed with maximum decline of 4.00%. Along with this, there was a decline of 3.16% in realty, 3.14% in metal, 2.71% in media and 2.18% in auto sector.
