6 hearings were held on Dallewal in the Supreme Court in 17 days.
1. Punjab government should do something In the hearing held on December 17, the Supreme Court told the Punjab government regarding Dallewal’s health that sentiments were attached to him. The state should do something. There cannot be laxity in this. Punjab government will have to handle the situation.
2. Punjab government said- Dallewal’s health is fine. In the hearing on December 18, the Punjab government said that Dallewal’s health was fine. On this the court asked that the 70 year old man has been on hunger strike for 24 days. Who is the doctor who is diagnosing Dallewal’s health without any test? He was not examined, no blood test, no ECG was done.
3. Officials take decision on hospitalization In the hearing on December 19, the court expressed concern that Dallewal’s condition was worsening every day. Why doesn’t the Punjab government shift him to the hospital? This is their responsibility. The authorities will take a decision if he needs to be admitted to hospital.
4. Shift to hospital with the help of the center In the hearing on December 28, the court told the Punjab government that first you create the problem, then you say that you cannot do anything. Shift them to the hospital with the help of the centre. In this, on the protest of the farmers, the court said that it has never heard of any movement to stop anyone from being taken to the hospital. This is like incitement to suicide. What kind of farmer leaders are they who want Dallewal to die? Pressure is visible on Dallewal. Those who are opposing his hospitalization are not his well-wishers.
5. Government took extension of 3 days During the hearing in the Supreme Court on December 30, the Punjab government told the court that Punjab was closed on December 30, due to which the traffic did not move. Apart from this, a mediator has also applied in which it has been said that Dallewal is ready for talks if the union intervenes. After which the Supreme Court accepted the application of Punjab Government seeking time.
6. Efforts are being made to worsen the situation On January 2, the Supreme Court said that deliberate efforts were being made to worsen the situation. We never asked to break the fast. The court told the Punjab government that your attitude is not to bring about reconciliation. Some so-called farmer leaders are making irresponsible statements. In this case, Dallewal’s friend advocate Guninder Kaur Gill had filed a petition to form a party. On this, Justice Surya Kant said, “Please do not think about confrontation, we cannot talk directly to the farmers.”
