Trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar’s father Dilip Khedkar has got anticipatory bail till July 25 from a sessions court in Pune. Dilip Khedkar is a co-accused in a case of threatening a farmer with a pistol in a land dispute. The main accused in this case, his wife and Pooja’s mother Manorama Khedkar, is in police custody.
The police arrested Manorama on Thursday (July 18). Manorama was hiding in a lodge in Raigad district. She was accompanied by a boy, whom she said was her son. After Manorama’s arrest, Dilip had filed an anticipatory bail plea.
Pune Police on Friday (July 19) also recovered a pistol and three live cartridges from Manorama’s house in National Housing Society in Baner. Police suspect that this is the same pistol with which Manorama threatened farmers in Dhadavali village of Mulshi tehsil of Pune on June 4, 2023.

A video of Manorama Khedkar came out in which she was seen threatening the farmer with a pistol. Bouncers were also with Manorama.
The video of Manorama threatening farmers with a pistol came to light when her daughter Pooja Khedkar came under the purview of UPSC selection investigation this month. Manorama’s video went viral on social media. In this, mother Manorama was seen threatening a farmer by showing a pistol.
Police said that this video is from June 4, 2023. The Khedkar family has a dispute with farmers over some land in Dhadwali village of Mulshi tehsil of Pune. Regarding this dispute, Manorama was threatening 65-year-old Pandharinath Pasalkar with a pistol.
After the video went viral, Pandharinath Pasalkar filed a case against Dilip Khedkar, his wife Manorama and 7 others on July 11. Apart from the Arms Act, the police have registered a case under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 144 (unlawful assembly armed with deadly weapons), 147 (rioting) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
An engineering firm linked to Manorama in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra has been sealed in a property tax case of Rs 2 lakh dues.
UPSC filed an FIR against Pooja Khedkar
Here, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) also took action against Pooja Khedkar on Friday. UPSC has filed an FIR against Pooja in Delhi. Along with this, a show cause notice has been issued to cancel her candidature in the civil services and to stop her from appearing in further examinations.
His selection as IAS can also be cancelled. There is also a possibility of being barred from appearing in any examination in future. UPSC said that Pooja, selected for the Civil Services Examination-2022, concealed her identity by changing her name, parents’ name, photo, signature, email ID, phone number and address.

So far so many irregularities have been revealed
- Puja’s father and retired IAS officer Dilip Khedkar declared his assets to be Rs 40 crore. Puja has assets worth Rs 14 crore. Despite this, she took advantage of OBC non-creamy layer by showing her annual income to be less than Rs 8 lakh.
- Pooja changed her name and appeared for the UPSC exam. In 2019-20, her name was ‘Pooja Diliprao Khedkar’. In 2021-2022, it was changed to ‘Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar’. Till 2019-20, the spelling of her father’s name was Dilip, which was changed to ‘Deelip’ in 2021.
- Reservation benefits are available in this category only if the person has 40% disability. Pooja has only 7% disability. Getting a disability certificate in one day is also under suspicion.
- It has also come to light that a person has appeared for the UPSC exam 11 times with fake documents, while the OBC category gets only nine chances.
- While working as a trainee in Pune, Pooja installed a siren on her private car without permission. She tried to occupy the cabin of a senior officer.
Pooja told UPSC- I am mentally challenged
Pooja had claimed in an affidavit to UPSC that she is mentally challenged and also has visual impairment. However, she refused to take the medical test 6 times.
According to several media reports, Pooja’s first medical test was scheduled in Delhi AIIMS in April 2022. She refused to appear in it citing being Covid positive. However, it is not clear that when Pooja refused to appear in the exam, then why and how did she get selected?
Pooja did not even appear for the MRI test
According to the report, Pooja had refused to attend the test schedule held in July and August. She had attended half of the test scheduled in September. Not only this, Pooja did not even attend the MRI test. This test checks whether you can see or not. At the same time, Pooja had described herself as belonging to the backward class (OBC). Questions are being raised on this too.
