Army personnel deployed during an encounter with militants in Desa Forest Area of Doda district in Jammu on July 16.
Amid rising terror attacks in Jammu, the Indian Army has deployed around 500 Para Special Force Commandos. Defence sources told news agency ANI that 50-55 Pakistani terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the Jammu region. They have entered India to re-activate the terror network.
The army has received intelligence inputs related to this, after which they have taken charge. Intelligence agencies are also working to eliminate the overground workers and infrastructure supporting the terrorists.
According to defence sources, the terrorists infiltrating Jammu have received high level training. They have modern weapons and equipment. The army is working on a strategy to search and eliminate these terrorists.
The army has already deployed its brigade of 3,500 to 4000 soldiers to combat the terrorists. Apart from this, the army already has a counter-terrorist infrastructure in Jammu, which includes Romeo and Delta forces as well as two forces of the National Rifles.

The Army and Village Guard Defence conducted a search operation in Doda, Jammu on July 18. There has been intermittent firing between security forces and terrorists here since June 12.
20 year old network of Jaish and Lashkar is active in Jammu
In Jammu region, the local network of Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was strictly neutralized by the army 20 years ago, has become active again with full force. Earlier these people used to carry the goods of the terrorists, now they are providing them arms, ammunition and food in the villages itself.
The 25 suspects who were detained recently have given clues about this during interrogation. This network has spread in nine out of 10 districts of Jammu namely Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Jammu and Ramban.
According to former Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaidya, Pakistan Army and ISI started targeting Jammu after the removal of Article 370. They activated this network in two years. With their help, terrorists carried out major attacks on the army in Poonch and Rajouri in 2020. Then they targeted Udhampur, Reasi, Doda and Kathua.
In 2020, the army was removed from Jammu and sent to Ladakh, this became an opportunity for the terrorists
Till 2020, a large number of security forces were deployed in the Jammu region. However, after the Galwan episode, the army was removed from here and sent to Ladakh to respond to Chinese aggression. The terrorists took advantage of this move of India as an opportunity and shifted their base from Kashmir to Jammu.
They already had an old local network here, which had to be activated. That is what has happened. Terrorist incidents in Jammu can also take a communal colour, because there are more citizens with a specific demographic here. The population density here is less than in Kashmir and road connectivity is limited. A large area is mountainous, so it is taking time to kill terrorists here.

Former and present Pakistani soldiers are also among the terrorists who entered Jammu
Military sources said that the weapons and satellite phones recovered from the terrorists killed after the Reasi attack are proof that former or current soldiers of the Pakistan Army are also included among the new terrorists. Their method of attack is similar to that of the Para Trooper Division of the Pakistan Army. Satellite phones are also completely end-to-end encrypted.
Intelligence is not getting help from local people
According to reports, terrorists coming from Pakistan are getting training in small camps in the remote hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. They have modern weapons as well as modern communication devices. Their satellite phones are also completely end-to-end encrypted.
This reduces the risk of input leaks. At the same time, the intelligence about terrorists received by the intelligence from local people and others has almost ended. Due to this, the army is not getting success in reaching the terrorists.
