Farmer leaders Sarwan Singh Pandher and Gurnam Singh Chaduni.
Farmers of Punjab have given a one-day ultimatum to the central government. If the Agriculture Minister does not talk to the farmers today, then tomorrow i.e. on December 8 at 12 noon, the farmers will march to Delhi. Farmer leaders will make a strategy to march to Delhi at Shambhu border today.
.
Even a day earlier, the farmers had tried to march to Delhi, but the Haryana Police did not allow them to enter Haryana. Tear gas shells were fired at the farmers, in which 8 farmers were injured. After which, at the behest of farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, the group of farmers retreated.
Meanwhile, President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni and farmer leader of Haryana, Gurnam Singh Chaduni said that we will not join the movement without being invited. If something goes wrong tomorrow, there will be chaos. Our moral support is with them. If all the organizations were together then they could have overpowered the government, but they (Sarwan Pandher and Jagjit Dallewal) did not listen. However, their demands are legitimate.
On the other hand, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that lathi charge on farmers and firing tear gas shells is not the solution. The government should find a solution by talking to all farmer organizations.
On December 6, Haryana Police fired tear gas shells to stop the farmers during their march to Delhi, in which 8 farmers were injured.
Farmers retreated within two and a half hours
The farmers started the march from Shambhu border yesterday to march towards Delhi. In the morning the farmers recited at the Shambhu border. After this, langar was served to a group of 101 farmers. At 1 pm the group of farmers moved forward. To stop the farmers, the police had created a 3-layer security cordon.
First the farmers uprooted the barricades. After this, the barbed wires were uprooted and finally the nails driven into the cement were removed. Farmers lifted the cement barricades and threw them into the Ghaggar river. Police fired tear gas shells to stop the farmers. 2-3 farmers were injured in this.
Some farmers still went ahead and reached the police officers. Here the police personnel used pepper spray to stop them. Once the farmers moved backwards. When the farmers tried to move forward again, tear gas shells were fired by the police. About 8 farmers were injured in this. Later Sarwan Singh Pandher called back the group of farmers. After the incident which lasted for two and a half hours, the farmers started back towards the protest site. He also took barbed wire and barricades with him.

On December 6, police also used pepper spray to stop farmers from marching to Delhi.
Now know who said what during the farmers’ march to Delhi…
Rahul Gandhi: Farmers want to come to Delhi to present their demands before the government and express their pain. Firing tear gas shells on them and trying to stop them in various ways is condemnable.
Naib Saini: Punjab government should listen to the demands of the farmers. Bhagwant Mann should meet the farmers. Congress is responsible for the condition of farmers. He should tell what he has done for the farmers.
Anil Vij: Farmers do not have permission to go to Delhi and protest. Punjab government did nothing for them. The government should go and talk to them.
Sarwan Pandher: We have backed down because we have been told that they (the government) are ready for talks. We do not want conflict with the government. If talks are not held tomorrow, we will march to Delhi.
