The Vice President said- This time is painful for me because I am imbued with nationalism.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday asked several questions directly to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan regarding the farmers’ movement.

Pointing towards Shivraj, he said, Agriculture Minister, every moment of yours is heavy. I request you and the person holding the second position under the Constitution of India is requesting you to please tell me what was promised to the farmer? And why was the promise made not kept?

What are we doing to keep the promise? There was a movement last year also, this year also there is a movement. The cycle of time is rotating. We are not doing anything.

Dhankhar said these things during the centenary celebrations of the Central Institute of Research in Cotton Technology (CIRCOT) in Mumbai. Shivraj also participated in this program.

However, he did not answer the Vice President’s questions. Shivraj said- India cannot become a prosperous country without its farmers.

Vice President said- Indian farmer is helpless… 4 points

  • For the first time I have seen India changing. For the first time I am feeling that developed India is not our dream but our goal. India was never at such a high position in the world. When this is happening then why is my farmer troubled and suffering?
  • This time is painful for me because I am steeped in nationalism. Our credibility in the world was never this high before, the Prime Minister of India is counted among the top leaders of the world today.
  • Modi has given a message to the world that solution can come only through dialogue. In such a situation, the problems of farmers should be solved. To attain the status of a developed nation, the income of every citizen will have to increase eight times.
  • Who are those people who tell farmers that they will give them a fair price for their produce? I don’t understand that a mountain will fall. The farmer is alone and helpless.
