In view of the danger of black ice on the roads, vehicular movement from Kunjam Top was stopped 4 days ago. Due to this, Lahaul’s connectivity with Spiti has been cut off. To travel from Lahaul to Spiti and from Spiti to Lahaul, one has to go via Kinnaur.
After Kunjam Top, police posts at Sarchu and Darcha have also been removed, as these areas get snowfall anytime in winter. There is a possibility of getting stuck due to this. In view of the weather department’s forecast of snowfall in the higher areas for the next 72 hours, the police have removed police posts from Sarchu and Darcha and placed them in Jispa.
