Assam Police seized 76,000 Yaba tablets in the raid. During this period 3 people were arrested. These tablets were being smuggled through 2 vehicles. Its price is around Rs 1 crore. The raid took place in Patel Nagar area of Shribhoomi district.
Yaba tablets contain methamphetamine and caffeine. It is red in color and is produced in Shan, Kachin and two other states of eastern Myanmar.
Earlier, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Customs Department seized about 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine. It is commonly known as ICE. Its price in the international market is around Rs 16 crore.
