The Delhi government has launched two new DTC bus routes to enhance the city’s public transport system. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot inaugurated the new services on Sunday. One of these routes has been specifically planned to accommodate school children, ensuring they have a convenient and safe way to travel to and from school.

The first new route, 892 SPL, is exclusively tailored for school children. This bus will operate from Dhoolsiras village to Chhawla School, covering a distance of approximately 6.5 km. The bus schedule aligns with school timings, offering two trips in the morning and two in the afternoon to cater to students’ needs. All buses on this route will be CNG-powered, promoting a greener mode of transport. The main stops along this route include Dhoolsiras village, Bamnoli, BSF Camp Chhawla, and Chhawla village.

The second new route, 892 STL, aims to improve connectivity between villages and urban areas. It will connect rural villages like Nanak Heri with urban hubs, including Dwarka Sector 10. This route, which spans about 19 km, is intended to serve residents of areas like Nanak Heri, Badusarai, Kanganheri, and Chhawla. Starting at Nanak Heri and concluding at Dwarka Sector 10, this route will facilitate better access to the city for villagers and colony residents.

The government has also boosted the frequency of buses on Route 716, which operates between Shivaji Stadium and Dhoolsiras. By adding two new air-conditioned CNG buses, this route now provides 16 trips daily, effectively doubling its previous service frequency. This increase aims to accommodate growing demand and ensure smoother connectivity across key locations, including Lady Hardinge Hospital, Palam, and Dwarka Court.

As reported by The Times of India, Gahlot stated that the government is committed to making public transport more accessible and reliable, particularly for residents of villages and the outer areas of Delhi. He emphasized that the launch of these new routes is a move towards providing a cleaner, safer, and more efficient travel experience for all commuters.

These new routes are a part of the Delhi government’s continued efforts to improve public transportation, offering more accessible and environment-friendly options for both students and rural residents.
