According to the Meteorological Department, an alert of heavy rain is issued in 13 states of the country including Bihar and West Bengal on Saturday. According to the Disaster Management Department (DMD) of Bihar, more than 45 lakh people in 30 districts are affected due to the floods that occurred twice in the month of September.
In the first phase, 28.34 lakh people were affected by the flood caused by rising water level in Ganga. In the second phase, due to floods in Nepal, rivers like Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, Mahananda, Kamala Balan were in spate and 16.68 lakh people were affected in Bihar.
Rainy conditions continued in many states on Friday also. At the same time, the state government has given financial assistance of Rs 7 thousand to the affected families. According to the state water resort department, the water level of many rivers including Bagmati, Budhi Gandak, Gandak, Ganga and Kamala Balan has decreased, but at some places they are flowing above the danger mark.

Madhya Pradesh: The mercury started rising as soon as the rains left. Monsoon has departed from Gwalior-Chambal of Madhya Pradesh, whereas in 2-3 days monsoon will also depart from Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal and Narmadapuram. Last of all, monsoon will depart from the eastern part i.e. Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol and Sagar divisions.
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is becoming active in the Bay of Bengal on October 4. Its effect will be visible in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh in the next one or two days, hence the departure of monsoon will be delayed here.
The maximum temperature in the districts of Gwalior-Chambal division is crossing 35°C. The mercury reached 36.6 degrees Celsius in Gwalior on Thursday.
Maharashtra: Loss of Rs 812 crore due to rain and flood in Marathwada. At the same time, due to heavy rains in September, crops worth Rs 812 crore were destroyed in Nanded, Maharashtra. The Marathwada region of the state comprises eight districts, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded, Latur, Parbhani, Jalna, Beed, Dharashiv and Hingoli. The crops sown on 5.96 lakh hectares of 9,83,915 farmers here have been destroyed. To compensate for this loss, a demand of Rs 812.38 crore has been made from the state government.
