Today at 7 pm, All India Chess Federation felicitated the players in Delhi. During this, the federation announced to give Rs 25 lakh each to all the players of the gold winning team. D Harika, Vaishali Rameshbabu, Divya Deshmukh, Tania Sachdeva and Vantika Agarwal were included from the Indian women’s team. While from the men’s team, D. Gukesh, R. Chess Olympiad was held in Budapest city of Hungary from 10th September. The open team, which remained undefeated in the open team tournament, had confirmed the gold by securing 19 points after the 10th round itself. The team played a draw against Uzbekistan after winning 8 consecutive matches. Then in the 10th round, the team won the gold by defeating America and in the 11th round by defeating Slovenia. In the last round, Gukesh Domaraju, R Praggnanandhaa and Arjun Irigasi from India won their respective matches. Vidit Santosh Gujrati played a draw and took the team’s score to 3.5. India won the 11th round and secured 21 points. Whereas China and America remained second with 16-16 points.
