1. Center sought report from Andhra government on Tirupati Laddu issue, TDP claims – animal fat found in Prasad
The Union Health Ministry has sought a report from the Andhra Pradesh government on the issue of animal fat and fish oil being found in Tirupati temple laddus. Health Minister JP Nadda said, “I have spoken to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The temple prasad (laddu) will be tested.”
How the dispute started: This controversy started when the state CM Naidu accused the Jagan Mohan government of mixing animal fat in the temple’s laddus. Naidu said, ‘In the last 5 years, the leaders of the YSR Congress Party tarnished the sanctity of Tirumala. Animal fat was used instead of ghee in the laddus here. We are using pure ghee.’ Naidu’s party TDP claimed to confirm its allegations by showing a lab report. YSR Congress demanded the High Court to form a committee to investigate Naidu’s allegations. The court will hear this on September 25.
More than 3 lakh laddus are made every day: Sri Venkateswara Temple is built on Tirumala hill in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. It is also known as Tirupati Balaji Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. He is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. 3.50 lakh laddus are made daily in the 300-year-old kitchen of the temple. Tirumala Trust earns Rs 500 crore annually from Prasadam.
2. Government will not be able to create a fact check unit, High Court imposed a ban, said- this will violate fundamental rights
The central government will not be able to create a fact check unit. The Bombay High Court termed the amendment made in the IT Act as unconstitutional and ordered its cancellation. The High Court said that the amendment in the IT Act is a violation of the fundamental rights of the public. Actually, the Center had amended the IT rules in 2023. Through this, the government could create a Fact Check Unit (FCU) to identify fake news on social media and online platforms. Comedian Kunal Kamra and Editors Guild had filed a petition against this.
The matter had also reached the Supreme Court: The central government had issued a notification to form a fact check unit on 20 March 2024. On 21 March, the Supreme Court had stayed this notification. This stay was imposed until the High Court hears the case. The court had said that this is a matter of freedom of expression.
3. Rahul Gandhi suddenly reached Haryana in the middle of elections, met the family of the youth injured in America
Rahul spoke to Amit’s family living in America.
Amidst the election campaign in Haryana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi suddenly reached Karnal. He met the family of the youth whom he had met during his US tour. Amit is a truck driver in the US, who had recently met with an accident. During his meeting with Rahul, he had told him that the youth of the village are going abroad because there is no employment there. Then Rahul had promised that he would definitely meet his family in India.
Rahul took ghee-churma with him: Rahul met Amit’s mother Birmati in Ghoghardipur village. Birmati said, ‘Rahul’s bodyguards came first at 5 am on Friday morning. They woke us up from sleep. After this Rahul Gandhi arrived at around 6 am. He stayed here for about one and a half hours. It is a big thing that the king of the country came to the hut of a poor man. He took desi ghee and churma from our house.’
Rahul had reached Ambala by truck in 2023: Last year on 23rd May also Rahul Gandhi had suddenly reached Haryana. During this time he travelled 50 kms from Ambala to Chandigarh by truck. Actually, he had left from Delhi to Shimla by car. But during this time he decided to travel in a truck to know the condition of truck drivers.
4. Kejriwal said- AAP will become the kingmaker in Haryana, I will sit on the CM chair only if the people of Delhi make me win again

After resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal reached Haryana for the first time. He did a road show of about 1.5 km in Yamunanagar. During this, he said that whatever government will be formed in Haryana this time, it will not be formed without AAP. Kejriwal said that an attempt was made to buy AAP MLAs by putting me in jail. But they could not buy any of my workers, let alone MLAs. He further said that I will become the CM of Delhi only when the people of Delhi make me win again.
AAP’s account was not opened in the last election: For the first time, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is contesting all 90 seats in Haryana. In 2019, the AAP contested 47 seats but could not win a single seat.
5. Army officer beaten up in Odisha police station, fiancée sexually harassed; victim said – my hands and legs were tied, clothes were taken off
The police misbehaved and assaulted the Army officer’s fiancée on September 15.
A case of assault on an army officer and sexual harassment of his fiancée has come to light at Bharatpur Police Station in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Actually, on September 15, some goons chased the couple. They went to the nearest police station to complain. Here the policemen first misbehaved with them, then locked the army officer in the lockup. When the victim woman protested, she was also beaten up and her hands and legs were tied.
The victim said that after beating me, I was locked in a room. After some time, a male policeman opened the door. He kicked me on my chest several times one after the other. He took off my pants. Then he took off his pants and started showing me his private parts and spoke obscene things.
CID will investigate the matter: The army complained about the incident to the Odisha government. The government has handed over the investigation of the case to the CID. 5 police officers including the inspector in-charge of Bharatpur have been suspended. An FIR has also been registered against them.

7. Israel’s second airstrike in Lebanon in 24 hours, Hezbollah’s senior commander Ibrahim Akil killed
Israeli forces carried out an airstrike on a Hezbollah building in Lebanon’s capital Beirut.
Israel carried out airstrikes on Lebanon twice in 24 hours. In the first airstrike, more than 100 rocket launchers of Hezbollah were destroyed. The Israeli army said that Hezbollah was preparing to attack Israel with these weapons. According to media reports, this was Israel’s biggest attack on Lebanon since the Gaza war began. In retaliation, Hezbollah fired 150 rockets on northern Israel, which were stopped by the Iron Dome. Then Israel carried out the second airstrike on a building in Beirut. In this, 12 people including Ibrahim Akil, a member of Hezbollah’s top military unit Jihad Council, were killed.
