Prime Minister Narendra Modi will once again visit Jammu and Kashmir today. He will address an election rally at 12 noon at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar. He will also meet BJP candidates contesting the elections.

PM Modi had earlier reached Doda on 14 September. He addressed the public on issues like nepotism, terrorism, stone pelting, Kashmiri Pandits and Article 370.

PM had said- Jammu and Kashmir was ruined by Congress, National Conference and PDP families. What these three families did to you together is no less than a sin. Voting took place on 24 assembly seats in 7 districts in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections on Wednesday. The voting percentage during this period was 58.85.

According to the Election Commission, Kishtwar recorded the highest voter turnout of 77.23% and Pulwama recorded the lowest at 46.03%. Doda was second with 69.33% and Ramban was third with 67.71%.

Voting for the first phase is over, voter turnout was 58.85%

In the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, voting was held on 24 assembly seats in 7 districts. During this, the voting percentage was 58.85.

PDP candidate from Bijbehara assembly seat Iltija Mufti, daughter of party chief Mehbooba Mufti, cast her vote. BJP candidate from Kishtwar Shagun Parihar also cast her vote.

Shagun had alleged that votes were cast without identity cards in Baghwan Mohalla of Kishtwar. After this, the atmosphere became heated, due to which voting was stopped for some time.

More than 35 thousand displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in different states of the country also cast their votes in the first phase of voting. A total of 24 special booths were made for them. There were 4 booths in Delhi, 19 in Jammu and 1 in Udhampur.

In the 2014 assembly elections, the BJP had won 25 seats. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had won 28 seats, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) 15 and the Congress 12 seats.

BJP is contesting 62 out of 90 seats BJP has announced candidates for 62 out of 90 seats in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP has fielded candidates on all 43 seats in Jammu division. The party is contesting 19 out of 47 seats in Kashmir. BJP will support independent candidates on the remaining 28 seats.
