The declaration of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Mains result has triggered controversy, with candidates alleging irregularities in the selection process and demanding an independent investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The result of the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (PSCSCCE) 2025 Mains was declared late on Wednesday night, November 4, 2026. Soon after the announcement, several candidates raised concerns over the selection pattern and alleged discrepancies in the examination process.
According to the allegations raised by the aspirants, 10 to 11 candidates were shortlisted from the same examination hall. Candidates have also claimed that 24.21% of the shortlisted candidates belonged to a single examination centre. They further alleged that around 10 candidates were selected from the same room across four examination centres.
The allegations have also been highlighted by former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar in a post on X, where the issue of the Punjab PCS Mains result was raised.
What is the difference between the hijacking of the PCS exam and the NEET paper leak case? First the paper leak of the Naib Tehsildar recruitment test, then the paper leak of the paramedical staff recruitment test at Baba Farid Medical University and now the hijacking of the prestigious PCS exam through alleged rigging in the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) main examination – how is this different from the NEET paper leak case, let the youth of Punjab decide for themselves. PPSC The declared results of the main examination of Bhagwant Mann government have blown away the claims of giving ‘job without money, without recommendation’. 10 to 11 examinees were selected from each examination room, while in the series of roll numbers it has been revealed that a total of 86 candidates were selected in groups of 3 or 4 candidates consecutively. Was all this setting done at the time of issuing the roll numbers? Were certain favored candidates continuously allotted roll numbers as part of a deliberate conspiracy? How is it possible in a prestigious competitive exam like PCS that almost one-fourth of the candidates sitting in a particular exam center or a few select rooms succeed, unless some ‘special method’ is adopted? Even before this, the Bhagwant Mann government has been accused of such rigging in recruitment exams. This is Punjab. It is a question of the dreams, hopes and future of the youth. It is very important to get this whole matter investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), so that the truth can come out and all the facts can be revealed to the people. Candidates Demand CBI Investigation Into Punjab PCS Result
The protesting candidates have alleged irregularities in the evaluation of answer sheets and questioned the transparency of the selection process.
They have also raised concerns over the number of candidates shortlisted for the interview stage. According to the aspirants, the commission did not call three times the number of candidates against the advertised vacancies, as required under the applicable selection criteria.
Another allegation concerns the roll numbers of candidates who were reportedly absent from the examination but allegedly appeared in the result list. Candidates have demanded clarification from the commission regarding these discrepancies.
These allegations have not yet been independently established and require verification by the commission or an investigating authority.

The aspirants have also warned that they may approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court if they do not receive a satisfactory response from the authorities.
The PPSC has uploaded the roll-number-wise list of candidates shortlisted for the interview stage on November 4, 2026. The recruitment process is being conducted for the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination 2025.
