Spain superstar Lamine Yamal entered his name in the history books on Tuesday (November 3) by breaking the record for scoring the most goals in the UEFA Champions League as a teenager.
The 19-year-old World Cup winner with Spain opened his goal account in the 7th minute of Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League match against Aston Villa at Camp Nou on Tuesday. The goal against the Premier League club was Yamal’s 14th in the premier European competition. He broke the previous record held by Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe had scored 13 goals as a teenager in the UEFA Champions League for AS Roma and Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland is in third place with 10 goals as a teenager. The Norway striker represented RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League as a teenager.

Yamal remains the youngest player to start a UEFA Champions League match — aged 16 years and 83 days in his full European debut versus Porto. He is also the youngest to score and assist in a single UCL match, the youngest to score in a UCL semifinal, and holds the records for most UCL goals before turning 18 (5) and before turning 19 (11).
For Barcelona, apart from Yamal, captain Raphinha scored two goals in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa. The brace by the Brazilian forward helped him extend his tally to 23 goals in the UEFA Champions League for Barcelona. He has now become Barcelona’s joint-third-highest goalscorer in the tournament’s history.

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has also scored 23 goals in the UCL for Barcelona, while Luis Suarez scored 25 goals for the Catalan giants. Lionel Messi tops the list of players with the most goals for Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 120 Champions League goals for Barcelona.
