Actress Sara Ali Khan has spoken openly about her journey in Bollywood, nepotism and being a star kid. In an interview given to Filmfare, Sara said that she had no godfather in Bollywood.
Although he admitted that being from the Pataudi family, he got easy recognition and opportunities, but his father Saif Ali Khan never recommended anyone for work.
Sara told that she lives with her single mother Amrita Singh and she herself solved the problems faced during the first film ‘Kedarnath’.
Sara is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife Amrita Singh.
The word nepotism affects hard work.
Sara said that she cannot deny that her surname opened doors for her and gave her recognition even before she became an actor.
However, she feels uncomfortable with the fact that ‘nepotism’ has been made a bad word. According to Sara, because of this word the hard work and efforts of the artists are negated.
He said that be it himself, Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Pandey, no one chose in whose house they would be born.
Father did not recommend for films
Talking about her family background, Sara said that being from a film family does not mean that every career path becomes easy.
He told that his father Saif Ali Khan never went to any director’s office and asked for roles for him nor did he discuss his contracts.
She has been living with her mother Amrita Singh since her parents’ separation in 2004 and has taken her own decisions in the industry.

Faced the ‘Kedarnath’ controversy himself
Referring to her first film ‘Kedarnath’ released in 2018, Sara said that when problems arose during the shooting, she herself resolved the issue. No one was standing with him at that time.
He said that even after a career of 8 years, people have to explain these things, which is not right. Getting a chance to debut is a different thing, but the journey ahead depends only on one’s ability.
Saif and Amrita got married in 1991
Talking about Sara Ali Khan’s family background, her mother Amrita Singh was a famous actress of the 80s and 90s. Amrita Singh married Saif Ali Khan in 1991. The couple got divorced in 2004 after 13 years of marriage. Sara was born in 1995 and her brother Ibrahim was born in 2001. Later Saif Ali Khan married Kareena Kapoor in 2012.

Talking about career, Sara Ali Khan’s recent film ‘Udta Teer’ is running in theatres. Ayushmann Khurrana is in the lead role in this spy-comedy film directed by Akash Kaushik. After debuting with ‘Kedarnath’, Sara has worked in films like ‘Simmba’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ and ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.
