Child Marriage Free India: A few years ago, the foundation of the ‘Child Marriage Free India’ campaign was laid in rural India – a movement led by women leaders and started by Just Rights for Children. What started as a small effort at the grassroots level has today become the basis for bringing meaningful change in the country and beyond. But this fight against child marriage had started many decades ago. Due to the continuous work and ground work of senior leaders of JRC, this issue came out of silence and became a part of public consciousness. This prompted communities to question and protest the practice.
