A video before the child’s death has also surfaced, in which the burnt child was seen sitting on the bed.
In Gujarat’s Vav-Tharad district, a man poured petrol on his 2-year-old son and burnt him alive. According to the police, the accused considered the child a burden. The incident took place in Suigam taluka of the district on Tuesday. Accused Ashok Rawal has been arrested.
Police said that Rawal took the child to the hospital after setting him on fire. There the doctors declared him dead. An FIR has been registered in the matter and investigation has been started.

Ashok’s uncle lodged an FIR
Babubhai Lakhmanbhai Rawal, resident of Rawalwas in Suigam, has filed a complaint against his nephew and murderer Ashok Jeetabhai Rawal at Suigam police station. The wife of accused Ashok Rawal was in her maternal home for the last 3 months after a fight.
Ashok was living alone with his son. Due to absence of wife, Ashok was finding it difficult to take care of the child.
On October 13 at 1 pm, he poured petrol on his son Navghan and set him on fire. He then took him to the hospital, but the child died.
The police have exhumed the body of Ashok’s son from the crematorium and sent it for investigation.
The body was buried to hide the truth, the police dug it out.
To prevent the truth of the child’s death from being revealed, Ashok, along with his family members, buried the child’s body in the community crematorium and performed the last rites. However, later when Ashok’s uncle Babubhai Rawal came to know about this whole thing, he was shocked and immediately went to Suigam police station and lodged a complaint against his nephew.
The police dug out the child’s body from the cremation ground and took it into their custody. During interrogation, Ashok confessed to the crime of murdering his son.
