Bollywood actor Ranveer Shorey has received death threats after opposing the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) street demonstration.
At 9:10 pm on October 12, threatening messages were sent to him from two different email IDs, in which it was said that he would be attacked on the head with an iron rod in a public place.
Ranveer Shorey has complained to Cyber Police and Mumbai Police by sharing screenshots of these emails on social media platform X. Mumbai Police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation.

Threat of attack with iron rod in email
The mail was sent to actor Ranveer Shorey from an email ID named Raj Parihar. Extremely abusive and violent language has been used in the email.
The threat actor wrote that they are keeping an eye on Ranveer’s location and movement and will attack when the right time comes. The email threatened to hit him on the head with an iron rod from behind in a public place.
Ranveer complained to Mumbai Police
After receiving the threatening email, Ranveer Shorey posted screenshots of the email on social media platform X. Tagging Cyber Dost and Maharashtra Cyber, he wrote that he has received threats from these two email accounts, which should be taken into consideration.

Soon after, the official handle of Mumbai Police responded to his post asking for contact details to contact him. After this Ranveer thanked Mumbai Police for their immediate response.
Ranveer had raised questions on CJP’s street protest
The main reason behind this threat is believed to be the post made by Ranvir Shorey on the CJP movement. Recently, raising questions on CJP’s performance against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Ranveer had written that instead of blocking roads, democratic avenues like court and Parliament should be used to protest.
He had termed occupying the streets and harassing the general public as ‘murder of democracy’. After this statement, he was targeted on social media.

Background of CJP demonstration and police action
Cockroach Janata Party had announced a big demonstration at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. This agitation was called over allegations of irregularities in the Revision of Voter List (SIR).
However, Delhi Police and Mumbai Police took a tough stance and detained thousands of protesters. Many people, including actor Imran Khan, were detained from Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan, after which political rhetoric has continued.
