109 people died, while 116 people are missing when a boat full of migrants sank near the coast of the African country Djibouti. There were about 350 people in the boat. More than 80 people have been saved in the accident. According to the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM), all the survivors are Ethiopian citizens. The accident occurred on the intervening night of October 8 and 9, north of the city of Obock in Djibouti. According to IOM, 109 bodies have been recovered so far after the accident. These include 52 men, 42 women and 15 children. Among the children there are 9 girls and 6 boys. The boat was going from Djibouti to Yemen.
