Pakistan has summoned the Indian diplomat on Saturday. Pakistan Foreign Ministry has expressed protest over the death of two people on the India-Pakistan border in Tarn Taran, Punjab.
Pakistan claims that both were Pakistani citizens and were killed in Border Security Force (BSF) firing. This incident happened on Friday.
According to Indian officials, these people were trying to enter the Indian border. After giving warning, BSF opened fire.

According to Indian officials, three suspicious people were moving towards the Indian border from Pakistan. BSF soldiers warned them to stop.
One of them went back towards Pakistan, while two people continued moving forward. After this BSF opened fire, in which both of them died. This is the second incident of infiltration in Tarn Taran in 7 months.
Pakistan has demanded investigation
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has said that both those killed were unarmed civilians. According to Pakistan, they had gone near the border and unknowingly crossed the international border.
Pakistan has said that such action against its citizens is not right.
Pakistan has demanded a prompt, transparent and credible investigation into the matter. It has also asked to take legal and disciplinary action against those responsible and to inform the results of the investigation to the Pakistan government.
According to Pakistani website Dawn, the killed people have been identified as Azmat Rasool and Mohsin Jatt. Both were residents of Jattawali Haveli area of Ladhar. The third person is injured and admitted to hospital.
Even before this, 5 infiltrators were killed
March 2026: A Pakistani infiltrator was killed by BSF in Khemkaran sector of Tarn Taran. He was moving ahead even after the warning.
August 2024: A Pakistani infiltrator was killed near Dal village of Tarn Taran.
August 2023: An infiltrator was killed in firing near Thekalan village of Tarn Taran.
May 2021: A Pakistani infiltrator was killed near Khalda village. BSF had recovered Pakistani goods from him.
February 2021: A Pakistani infiltrator was killed in Firozpur sector. 14.8 kg of heroin and weapons related items were found from him.
