The Supreme Court has cancelled the proposed meeting with the parliamentary panel on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ mechanism, saying the proposed amendment may become a subject matter of judicial review and it may not be desirable to discuss the issue.

“They are of the opinion that as the proposed amendment might become a subject matter of judicial review before SC, it may not be expedient or desirable to discuss the issue on the administrative side. The proposed meeting is accordingly cancelled,” the secretary general of SC stated.
