Mohit Sharma made his IPL debut in 2013 with Chennai Super Kings.
Former Indian fast bowler Mohit Sharma will be the new bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings. He will replace Eric Simmons of South Africa. Mohit will be the first member to join head coach Zaheer Khan’s support staff.
Played 4 seasons for CSK
Mohit Sharma has played four IPL seasons for CSK. For CSK, he played 48 matches in the IPL, while he also played 10 matches for the team in the now-defunct Champions League T-20.
He started his IPL career with CSK in 2013. In 2014, he won the Purple Cap by taking 23 wickets in 16 matches. Even in his first IPL season of 2013, he took 20 wickets in 15 matches.
Later he also played for Punjab, Delhi and Gujarat. He made a brilliant comeback for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 by taking 27 wickets in 14 matches. He was just one wicket behind the bowler who took the most wickets in that season.

- His last ODI was on 25 October 2015 against South Africa in Mumbai. In that match, he took 1 wicket for 84 runs in 7 overs. India lost this match by 214 runs.
- His last match in T20 International was on 5 October 2015 against South Africa in Cuttack. India lost this match by 6 wickets. In that match, Mohit gave 40 runs in 4 overs and did not take any wicket.
- Mohit had announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on 3 December 2025. In his message, he remembered the journey from Haryana to India’s jersey and IPL.
First class debut in 2011
Mohit completed a professional career of about 14 years as a player. The journey that started with the first-class debut for Haryana in 2011 reached India, CSK and other IPL teams.
