NEET UG Paper Leak Case: NTA Debars Accused’s Son For 2 Years, Withholds 2026 Result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has barred the son of Latur-based coaching centre owner and NEET-UG paper leak accused Shivraj Motegaonkar from appearing for the NEET-UG examination for two years.

Motegaonkar, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, is currently in judicial custody.

According to an NTA communication dated September 19, his son Aditya Motegaonkar’s result for the NEET-UG examination held earlier this year has been withheld. He has also been declared ineligible to appear for NEET-UG 2027.

The CBI has alleged that Shivraj Motegaonkar paid Rs 5 lakh to procure chemistry questions from P V Kulkarni, who was part of the NTA panel involved in setting the examination questions.

The agency has further alleged that Aditya attended coaching classes conducted by Kulkarni, where the questions were provided to him.

Following the NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21, the NTA withheld Aditya Motegaonkar’s result and sought his explanation regarding the alleged irregularities.

In his response, Aditya denied using any unfair means during the examination. He also argued that the notice issued to him concerned alleged irregularities in the May 3 examination and questioned why his result in the subsequent re-examination had also been withheld.

NEET-UG, or the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), is conducted by the NTA for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India.

The NTA had cancelled the NEET-UG examination held on May 3 following allegations of a question paper leak and conducted a re-examination on June 21.

The CBI last month submitted its final report before a designated fast-track court in Delhi dealing with criminal cases related to paper leaks and the use of unfair means in public examinations.
