According to Aaj Tak report, the film had an opening of around Rs 140 crore worldwide, while the net collection in India on the first day was around Rs 101 crore. But on the very next day the earning came to around Rs 37 crore. After this the pace of the film continued to slow down. By the 15th day, the worldwide collection of the film was said to be around Rs 339.32 crore. That is, the biggest problem of the film was not its opening, but after that, keeping the audience in the theaters. Taran Adarsh said – The content of the film was very weak. According to Taran Adarsh, the biggest contribution in ‘Toxic’ getting a good opening was Yash’s star power. After ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, Yash has become a big star not only in South but also in North India. In such a situation, there was tremendous curiosity among the audience about his return to the big screen after four years. This was the reason why the advance booking of the film was excellent and the audience reached the theaters on the first day. But according to Taran Adarsh, the way the collection declined after the second day, it became clear that star power alone could not sustain the film for long. There is talk of a loss of Rs 300 crore, but it is difficult to tell the exact amount. There is talk of a loss of around Rs 300-350 crore for ‘Toxic’. Generally in the film industry, when a film is not performing well and another film is attracting the audience, then theater operators give more screens to the film which is doing better business. Recent box office trends also show the same. Both ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ and ‘Hanuman Ansh’ have made a stronger hold than ‘Toxic’. Real shock: Audience did not return after the big opening. If we look at the whole story of ‘Toxic’, the biggest failure of the film was not the weak start, but its inability to survive after the big opening.
