According to reports, the BRICS joint declaration will condemn unilateral war without naming any specific country.
BRICS nations have strongly criticized unilateral sanctions, calling for the elimination of unlawful coercive measures that are not authorized by the UN Security Council. The bloc states that such sanctions undermine international law, harm global development, and threaten food and health security. The grouping has also worked to address formulations on unilateral sanctions imposed by individual countries in their joint declarations.
BRICS Sherpas met in New Delhi to finalize the draft Delhi Declaration and resolve internal differences among member countries, particularly regarding references to the West Asia war and the Palestinian issue. These meetings aimed to secure a consensus document after previous disagreements, such as those between Iran and the UAE, had prevented joint statements at earlier ministerial-level meetings.
