A case of theft related to the family of Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has come to light. A complaint was registered that gold and diamond jewelery worth around ₹5 lakh was stolen from his parents’ house in Churchgate, Mumbai. Marine Drive police have arrested 40-year-old domestic help Seema Vinod Ghate in the case. Police have arrested the accused from Virar and investigation is underway to recover the stolen jewellery.
Jewelery stolen from Churchgate house
According to IANS report, the house of the parents of Ameesha Patel and her brother Ashmit Patel is in the Churchgate area of Mumbai. It was from here that the complaint of theft of gold and diamond jewelery came to light. The value of the theft is said to be around ₹5 lakh. Ameesha’s mother Asha Patel lodged a complaint about the matter with the police.

Domestic help accused of theft
Police have arrested a 40-year-old woman named Seema Vinod Ghate in this case. She worked as a domestic help in the house of Ameesha Patel’s parents. According to the police, she was working there for about one and a half years.
Claim of theft several months ago
According to police investigation, the jewelery which has been reported stolen was allegedly stolen in January 2026. Ameesha’s mother was suspicious of the domestic help. They had allegedly asked her for the last 5-6 months to confess to the theft and return the jewellery.
Police started investigation after complaint
When the jewelery was not recovered, Asha Patel contacted the Marine Drive police and lodged a complaint. The police registered an FIR in the matter and started investigation. Initially the case was registered against an unknown woman. After this, the crime detection team of the police proceeded with the investigation.
Police caught the accused from Virar
During the investigation, the police traced the domestic help Seema Ghate. He was caught from Virar and arrested after interrogation. The accused was produced in the court, from where he has been sent to police custody till September 15.
Stolen jewelery has not been recovered yet
According to the police, the stolen jewelery is yet to be recovered. The investigation team is trying to find out where the allegedly stolen jewelery is. Besides, any old criminal record of the accused is also being investigated.
