In Israel, about 4.7 lakh dollars i.e. about 4 crore rupees were spent on the hair styling and makeup of the Prime Minister from 2019 to August 2026. This has been revealed from government records obtained under the Right to Information Act. In December 2025, lawyer Yara Shalit had sought information about this expenditure from the PM Office. After this, details of expenditure incurred in different years and months were released. During this period, there have been three Prime Ministers in the last 7 years – Benjamin Netanyahu, Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid. According to records, about 90% of the total expenditure on hair and makeup was on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara. However, the names of her hair stylist and makeup artist were also hidden in many documents. The Prime Minister’s Office cited the security of the state for this. Even when the war started in 2023, the expenditure on hair and make-up was the highest in 2025, the bill also increased during foreign trips. In 2025, the highest amount was spent on the Prime Minister’s hair and make-up. The total expenditure this year was about 1.11 lakh dollars i.e. about 93 lakh rupees. Even during foreign trips, huge sums of money were spent on hair and make-up. During Netanyahu’s 4-day visit to Washington in February 2025, about $13,500 i.e. Rs 11 lakh was spent on the services of makeup artist and hair stylist. This was the biggest expenditure on this item during the foreign trip. This visit was to meet Trump. At that time, Netanyahu was the first foreign leader to visit the White House during Trump’s second term. During another visit of Netanyahu to Washington in July 2024, about $ 11,500 i.e. Rs 9.6 lakh was spent on these services. Netanyahu’s expenditure on guests and clothes is also high. Apart from hair and make-up, there is also a separate item of expenditure related to the official representation of the Prime Minister. This includes expenses like clothing and hosting guests. Under this head, the expenses related to Netanyahu were about 1.34 lakh dollars i.e. 1.12 crore rupees. For Naftali Bennett this amount was around $19,000 i.e. Rs 16 lakh and for Yair Lapid it was around $2,600 i.e. Rs 2.2 lakh. However, the government did not make public the complete details of the expenditure related to jewellery, clothes and image consulting. This information was also demanded by an organization working for freedom of information. This matter is getting the most attention because government records have revealed that thousands of dollars were spent separately on the Prime Minister’s hair styling and make-up. Especially in 2025, this expenditure was more than 1 lakh dollars. Expense breakdown 2019-August 2026: About $4.7 lakh on hair styling and makeup Netanyahu and Sara: About 90% of total hair-makeup expenses 2023: About $1.03 lakh 2022: About $27,600 2025: About $1.11 lakh, highest in February 2025 Washington trip: Approx $13,500 July 2024 Washington trip: About $11,500 September-November 2023: About $2,600 on hair, $1,580 on makeup October 2023: About $810 on hair styling Netanyahu experiments a lot with his hair. Changing the color of Netanyahu’s hair is not a new thing. Israeli media have been reporting on his different hair colors for several years. Sometimes his hair looked dark brown, and sometimes it appeared in shades of grey, white, green or purple. In 2017, there was so much discussion about his changing hair color that he himself joked about it. He said that ‘brown is the new grey’. Then in a few weeks their old gray color will return. A few years later, in 2021, Netanyahu himself revealed the secret of his hair color. In an interview he said that he uses a shampoo which can change the color of hair. He also told that during the experiments regarding colour, his hair sometimes turned green, sometimes brown and sometimes purple.
