A 47-year-old shopkeeper lost his life in Kanpur after allegedly being brutally assaulted by a group of youths for objecting to public urination. The incident occurred near Om Chauraha in the Kakadev police station area when the victim, Amit Kumar, was returning home after closing his shop late at night.
The escalation turned deadly after Kumar spotted a group drinking in public and noticed one of the youths urinating in the middle of the road. When Kumar asked him to stop, an argument erupted, leading the group to surround and violently attack him.
Brutal Attack Captured on CCTV Camera
The entire violent encounter was captured on a nearby CCTV camera installed near the scene. According to police and family members, the suspects hurled verbal abuse before ambushing Kumar.

Emergency services and family members rushed Kumar to a local hospital before transferring him to a specialised facility as his condition deteriorated. He succumbed to severe brain trauma late Monday evening after fighting for his life for two days.
Following news of his death, grieving family members gathered at the post-mortem house, demanding immediate arrests and strict legal action against all those involved.

Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Srivastava, confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant legal sections at the Kakadev police station.
