American content creator Kristen Fisher living in Delhi has raised this question. He posted a post on Instagram viral video He shared that there is a large amount of content related to India on social media, which in his view does not match the real life of the country at all.

‘People ask me, why do you live in India?’
For Kristen, this is not a matter of just one video. She told that during her stay in India, she was asked many times why she lives in a country which is described as dirty and unorganized on the internet. Her answer is that understanding India just by seeing it on social media and experiencing it by living here are two different things.
According to him, if a foreigner continuously sees only negative videos about India, then it is natural for him to have a similar image of the country in his mind. But when you come to the ground and live among people, the picture may look quite different.
‘India is not what the internet shows’
Citing her experience, Kristen said that the one-sided picture that is presented of India is not a complete part of the reality. Referring to the behavior of the people of India and the everyday life here, she said that she has found very nice and friendly people here. For them, India is not just the name of filth or chaos seen in viral videos.
This is why he appealed to people to think about every picture seen on social media before accepting it as truth.
AI increases the concern of spoiling the picture
The most interesting aspect of this whole matter is the videos being made with AI. Earlier it was easy to share an incident out of context, but now with the help of generative AI, such pictures and videos can be created in which it can be difficult to differentiate between real and fake.
Drawing attention towards this danger, Kristen said that if such fake videos go viral continuously with preconceived notions about a country, then they can further affect the image of that country.
