The rainy season is going to continue in many parts of the country today i.e. on 5th September. The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in many parts of North-West, Central, Eastern and North-Eastern India. Heavy to very heavy rain may occur in some areas.
There is a low pressure area over the northern part of Madhya Pradesh and adjacent southern Uttar Pradesh. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Eastern Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh even today. Heavy rain may also occur in East Madhya Pradesh. Rain may continue at many places in Western Madhya Pradesh till September 6 and in Eastern Madhya Pradesh till September 8.
There will be an impact of rain in North-West India also. Today, there may be heavy rain at isolated places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain is likely to continue at many places in Uttarakhand till September 10. The rainy season may continue till September 6 in Western Uttar Pradesh and till September 8 in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
What will be the situation in Delhi today?
It will be generally cloudy in Delhi today. One or two showers of light to moderate rain may occur at many places from morning till noon. During this period, there is a possibility of lightning along with storm. There may be thunderstorms and lightning at some places between afternoon and evening along with light to moderate rain. The maximum temperature in Delhi today is likely to be between 29 to 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius. At most places the minimum temperature will be around normal, while the maximum temperature is likely to be below normal.
Chances of rain in these parts too
In eastern India, rain is expected in many parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. It may rain at many places in Bihar on 5-6 September and 10 September. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till September 8.
The rainy season will continue in Northeast India also. There may be heavy rain at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from 4 to 10 September. Thunderstorm with lightning and strong winds are expected in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in South India today.
The wind speed in these areas can reach 40-50 kilometers per hour and can go up to 60 kilometers per hour with gusts. Strong winds may also prevail in northern and southern interior parts of Karnataka till September 6.
