Atif said, the music composition is excellent on both sides, but the rawness that is present in our songs is missing in Indian music. Indian Coke Studio relies heavily on commercialization and adapts the songs to the market. In contrast, Pakistani Coke Studio focuses entirely on original compositions. There the musicians have the freedom to showcase their art and in a way it is a do or die situation for them, where they can add their own identity. The show took fusion music to new heights by combining traditional Sufi, Qawwali, Ghazal and folk music with modern Western instruments. Meanwhile, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) had directed its producer members not to give work to Pakistani artists and technicians until India-Pakistan relations normalise. However, even after 2016, Atif Aslam’s songs appeared in many Bollywood films. In 2017, ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’ from the film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘Darasal’ from ‘Raabta’, ‘Main Agar’ from ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Jaane De’ from ‘Qarib Qarib Single’ were released. In 2018, the songs ‘O Saathi’ from ‘Baaghi 2’, ‘Paaniyo Sa’ from ‘Satyamev Jayate’, ‘Tera Hua’ from ‘Loveyatri’ and ‘Dil Meri Na Sune’ from ‘Genius’ were released. At the same time, since March 2019, none of his songs have been released in Bollywood films.
