The disruption at the AIIMS CRE exam came a day after the NEET-PG 2026 examination was affected by a power failure at the same Jaipur facility.

The AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2026 was disrupted at two examination centres in Jaipur on Monday due to internal power supply issues, a day after a similar incident affected the NEET-PG 2026 exam at the same TCS-operated facility.
The affected centres, RJ0101 and RJ0102, are located at the iON Digital Zone (iDZ) in Sitapura, Jaipur. The examination began at 9 am as scheduled, but a power failure disrupted the test at the two centres, reported PTI.
AIIMS Delhi subsequently cancelled the examination at the affected centres, citing the need to protect the interests of candidates and ensure fairness and integrity in the recruitment process. The re-exam will now be held on September 7.
The AIIMS CRE 2026 was conducted across the country for more than 21,000 candidates at 58 examination centres, according to TCS.
The disruption came a day after the NEET-PG 2026 examination was affected by a power failure at the same Jaipur facility. The exam was conducted on Sunday for more than 2.63 lakh candidates across 1,111 centres nationwide.
Following the NEET-PG disruption, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced a re-examination for candidates who could not complete the test because of the power failure. The re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur.
TCS iON on Monday attributed the disruptions at the Sitapura centre to “unknown local electrical issues”. The company said expert teams from vendors responsible for electrical maintenance were working to fix the problem urgently.
“TCS iON regrets the inconvenience caused to candidates,” the company said, adding that it was working with the concerned authorities to ensure that affected candidates can complete their examinations at the earliest.
TCS Asked To Submit Detailed Report
Following the AIIMS CRE disruption, TCS has been asked to submit a detailed report on the incident. Authorities have also directed the company to preserve system logs, CCTV footage and control-room communications to facilitate a comprehensive assessment.
AIIMS said the decision to cancel and re-conduct the examination at the affected centres was taken in the interest of candidates and to maintain a fair, transparent and equitable recruitment process.
The NBEMS has also called an immediate meeting to decide the course of action against the technology partner and the agency responsible for providing adequate infrastructure at the examination centres.
With the same Jaipur facility experiencing disruptions during two major examinations on consecutive days, the incidents have raised concerns over the infrastructure and preparedness of the centre.
