The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started accepting applications for scanned copies of evaluated answer books for students who appeared in the Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 held on July 28. The application window opens today, August 31, 2026, and candidates will have until September 1 to submit their requests. The facility is part of CBSE’s post-result process, which allows students to review how their answer books were evaluated and how marks were awarded.

Candidates seeking a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book will have to apply online and pay a processing fee of Rs 100 per subject. CBSE has clarified that requests will be accepted only during the prescribed schedule, and applications submitted after the deadline or through offline modes will not be entertained. Students are advised to submit the application themselves and carefully check all details before making the payment.

The scanned answer book will be made available in the candidate’s login account after information relating to the identity of the examiner, evaluator and other officials associated with the examination process has been removed. CBSE has stated that efforts will be made to provide scanned copies on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who wish to challenge the marks awarded in a particular subject can proceed to the next stage after receiving the scanned copy.

After obtaining the scanned answer book, eligible students can apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation. The application window for both facilities will remain open from September 7 to 8, 2026. The fee for verification of marks is Rs 100 per answer book, while the re-evaluation fee is Rs 100 per question.

CBSE has specified that re-evaluation will be available only for the theory portion and will be conducted for the full question rather than a part of a question. Candidates will have to refer to the marking scheme for the concerned subject and submit their re-evaluation request with appropriate reasoning. The status of re-evaluation will be uploaded on the CBSE website.

Students should note that a decrease in marks, even by one mark, will be taken into account following verification or re-evaluation. As per the official notice, the result of the re-evaluation will be final, and no appeal or review against it will be entertained. In case of any change in marks, candidates will have to surrender their existing Mark Statement-cum-Certificate and will subsequently be issued a new document.

CBSE has advised students and parents to rely only on the Board’s official communication channels for updates regarding the post-result process and not on unverified social media posts, rumours or unofficial information. Candidates are advised to complete their scanned answer book applications within the prescribed deadline and carefully read all instructions before submitting their requests.
