The Union government has asked all state Chief Secretaries to arrange details of persons who are likely to be missing following Wednesday’s devastating flash floods in Nepal.
According to sources, the Union Home Ministry has asked chief secretaries to look for persons who are likely to be missing, making it an urgent requirement.
The requested information includes details such as the names and contact numbers of the individuals concerned and their families. The collected information has been requested to be shared through private communication channels.

Many of the missing are foreign tourists, officials said of the disaster, which the US Geological Survey believe was caused by a glacial collapse that sent a flow of debris engulfing areas along the way.
The tsunami-like rumble of water and mud struck villages and towns on the path of two rivers—Bhote Koshi and Trishuli.
