Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has retracted her statement on Kriti Sanon’s Rakshabandhan advertisement. In the ‘Decode Live’ show, Kangana said that Kriti can wear whatever she wants and no one is stopping her.
In the interview, when Kangana was asked about her earlier statement on Kriti Sanon’s clothes, she said, “The kind of films we see her in, who is stopping her from wearing something? Who has stopped her, who has to wear what?” Along with this, Kangana said that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, any woman can wear clothes of her choice.
Kangana said that Kriti can wear whatever she wants and no one is stopping her.
Controversy started with ‘bikini’ comment Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had targeted Kriti Sanon on her Instagram story without taking her name. Kangana had written that today women have all kinds of clothing options to wear, so why were such clothes chosen while tying Rakhi to brother on Rakshabandhan.
Kangana wrote on her Instagram story – “It is a wonderful time to be a woman. Our shelves are full of different types of clothes and today’s woman is a global woman. From cocktail dresses to lehenga choli, from jeans to sarees and from bikini to salwar-kameez, today we have so many clothing options. Then why would you tie Rakhi to your brother in a bikini or undergarments? Where did you get so many styling options? Ha ha, this ad is intentionally strange. “Looks like it was made.”
Jewelery brand withdrew the advertisement After the controversy increased on social media, Jiva jewelery brand issued a statement on Instagram and withdrew the advertisement. The company wrote that their intention is to respect Indian culture and festivals.
The aim of the company was to include pets in the festive cheer. If anyone’s sentiments have been hurt by this advertisement, the company is sorry and as a mark of respect it is being removed from all media platforms.
Controversy due to dress and pet dog in ad
This whole controversy started after the Rakshabandhan ad of Jiva jewelery brand. In this, Kriti was seen in Indo-Western bralette style blouse. In the video, apart from her brother, she was also seen tying Rakhi to her pet dog.

Many people on social media had expressed their displeasure over the actress’s clothes, calling it an insult to Indian culture and demanded to lodge a complaint.
Some users termed this advertisement as insensitive towards Hindu religion and festivals. While posting on X, a user wrote that a case should be registered against the actress for wrongly portraying the holy festival of Rakshabandhan and hurting religious sentiments.
