The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on Saturday issued an order allowing the air transfer of Amit Gupta, managing director of Orris Infrastructure, from Amritsar to Pune under administrative control. The move came after Gupta was arrested by Mumbai Police on Friday in an alleged forgery case.

MoCA said the transfer was being permitted in response to a police request letter dated August 21, 2026. Gupta was taken to Pune on an Air India Express flight, IX1694, under the supervision of an escort party comprising an assistant police inspector, a police constable and other officials.

Gupta Arrested In Alleged Forgery, Cheating Case

Gupta was arrested in Amritsar by a team from the Vikhroli police station of Mumbai Police in a case involving allegations of forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.

The case, registered in March this year, invokes provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) dealing with forgery, forgery of valuable securities, possession and use of forged documents as genuine, cheating and dishonest inducement of delivery of property, cheating by personation, criminal breach of trust by an agent, criminal conspiracy and acts done in furtherance of common intention.

The complainant, Dhanashikant Bapusaheb Patil, has alleged unauthorised changes were made to Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) records and Registrar of Companies, Mumbai records without authorisation.

According to the complaint, certified copies obtained through the MCA on February 27, 2026, showed alleged unauthorised filings by Amit Gupta and Saurabh Agrawal. It further alleges that Form-4, Form-3 and accompanying documents, including documents described as “NOTICE_minutes-pdf” and “clarification-pdf”, were fabricated or false, among other allegations.

A senior police officer confirmed Gupta’s arrest and said he was arrested in Amritsar and taken to Pune. The officer said Gupta had been sent to police remand until August 27.

Calls and messages sent by News18 to Gupta seeking his response did not receive any response.

ED Had Earlier Seized Assets Worth Over Rs 31 Crore

The latest case comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches against Orris Infrastructure Private Ltd, its directors and promoters at 14 locations in and around Delhi in 2024 in connection with an alleged Rs 500-crore real estate fraud case.

During the searches, the ED seized several documents from the office premises of Orris Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. The agency also seized luxury cars and various fixed deposits and bank guarantees worth over Rs 31 crore in connection with the alleged real estate fraud.

The ED had said in December 2024 that fixed deposits and bank guarantees amounting to Rs 31 crore belonging to Orris group companies were frozen and seized during the searches.
