Signing off – It was a highly entertaining first day as a Test venue for Mackay, with 18 wickets falling in the day. That is the third-most wickets to fall on Day 1 of a Test in Australia since 1975. Reading too much into that number would suggest the ball did all sorts, but it was a combination of some quality bowling from the left-armers on both sides and, at times, some not-so-good batting. Just as they did with the ball, Bangladesh will have to show resolve with the bat in their second dig, while Australia will look to add as much as they can to their lead. The game is already moving at quite a pace, and who knows, we might even have a two-day finish.
