Delhi Metro News: A late-night confrontation inside the Delhi Metro has raised questions over passenger safety after a CISF jawan was allegedly accused of secretly photographing a woman and later pointing his service pistol towards passengers during a heated exchange.
The incident reportedly took place at around 9 pm on Sunday, when passengers confronted the jawan after the woman allegedly accused him of taking her pictures without her consent. When passengers demanded that he hand over his phone, the situation escalated, with the jawan allegedly pointing his weapon towards them.
According to accounts of the incident, the jawan later stepped out of the metro coach onto the platform while allegedly continuing to hold the pistol. The incident reportedly caused panic among passengers, and a video of the confrontation has since circulated on social media.
CISF sources said the jawan has been suspended and that a departmental inquiry has been initiated into the incident.
The matter was reported to the Metro Police as well. Police sources said a PCR call was received at around 12.40 am regarding the incident, which took place at AIIMS Metro Station. A police team reached the spot, but the woman did not submit a formal complaint. The CISF authorities were subsequently informed about the incident.
Security personnel were also reportedly injured during the confrontation, although details surrounding the injury are yet to emerge.
CISF Suspends Jawan, Orders Detailed Inquiry
The CISF on Sunday said it had taken serious note of the alleged misconduct involving its personnel and a female passenger inside a Delhi Metro train. In a post on X, CISF Delhi Metro said the concerned personnel had been placed under suspension with immediate effect and that a detailed inquiry had been ordered.

Similar Delhi Metro Incident Recently
The latest incident comes amid renewed attention on allegations of people recording women without their consent inside the Delhi Metro.
Earlier, a woman passenger had confronted a man after allegedly catching him secretly recording her during a metro journey. The man reportedly deleted the video after she questioned him, but the woman checked his phone’s “Recently Deleted” folder and found the recording and photographs there. The incident was later shared on social media and drew widespread reactions.
Another Delhi Metro incident that went viral last year involved a woman recording and confronting a man who had allegedly been staring at her for around 15 minutes. She eventually took out her phone and confronted him over his behaviour.
The latest episode has once again brought the issue of privacy and passenger safety on the Delhi Metro into focus, particularly when allegations of unauthorised recording escalate into confrontations.
